Joy M. Walter - Owner/Trainer

Joy Marion Walter was born and raised in Bucks County Pennsylvania, and has had large equestrian facilities in New Jersey, Tennessee, California and Texas. With more than 40 years experience riding and showing hunters and jumpers, foxhunting and eventing, Joy is a well rounded and accomplished horseman. She has successfully competed in the USEF Equitation, Medal and Jumper divisions and has trained and owned AQHA World Champion Working Hunters. Many of her students have ridden at national levels and are trainers now themselves. Others are continuing their horse passions on college equestrian teams. Specializing in Equitation, Joy teaches a very classical form of horsemanship, stressing that a strong foundation will allow a rider to pursue any discipline. Whether a rider wants to ride for pleasure, or jump fences, they are encouraged to build a rock solid foundation at Cabin Run Equestrian, LLC, as Joy Walter is "turning riders into horsemen".
Students of Cabin Run Equestrian will learn the importance of safety, patience, respect and confidence when working with horses. Joy offers private lessons to beginners through advanced riders, focusing on each student’s individual goal. Serious riders are accepted. Semi-private and group lessons are offered to those who will benefit from riding with company.

Testimonials
Good trainers understand the physical, intellectual and social development of horses. Good educators understand the physical, intellectual and social development of children. Joy Walter's exceptionality is her understanding of both, and her ability to translate one to the other. The results speak for themselves. Students in Joy’s program develop confidence and compassion to an equal proportion; as her riders become more capable, they are awe-struck by how much more there is to learn. You see, Joy doesn’t just give “riding lessons”, she is training the next generation of empowered, capable and responsible horsemen.
